A Gold Medal Opportunity...

Incredible
Community
Energizers
An ice rink is a magnet for community life! Anyone from an ultra-committed hockey player or figure skater to a young family out for a fun, weekend skate, The Frontier Ice Arena has provided Coeur d’Alene and its surrounding areas a vibrant, icy place to laugh and train for many years…

Dear Ice Fan!
Our community is growing, and with it the dreams of our youth. We now have an extraordinary opportunity to finish building a space that will serve thousands of families, become a hub for youth development and recreation, and stand as a source of dignity for all of North Idaho.
Why Your Gift Matters
-
Keeping Recreational Dollars in North Idaho
With only one sheet of ice, local families, teams, and skaters often face limited access and must look outside the region for ice time, tournaments, training, and competition. A second sheet helps keep those dollars here — supporting local hotels, restaurants, retailers, and small businesses rather than sending that economic activity across the state line. -
Creating Capacity for Local and Visitor Spending
A second sheet of ice will allow Frontier Ice Arena to host more tournaments, competitions, camps, and special events. That means more visitors in our community, more overnight stays, more meals purchased locally, and more revenue circulating through North Idaho businesses. -
Investing in the Next Generation
This is more than an expansion. It is an investment in a year-round community asset that strengthens youth recreation, supports families, and increases the region’s ability to retain and attract spending tied to ice sports and community events.
In summary: A second sheet of ice means more than expanded recreation — it means keeping families, events, and spending in North Idaho instead of losing them across the state line.

Where Champions Begin...
Every skater starts somewhere—and for hundreds in our region, that beginning happens here.
Through the Lake City Learn to Skate program, operated by the nearly 100-year-old Spokane Figure Skating Club, more than 400 young skaters each year are introduced to the ice. What begins as a first lesson often becomes something more: confidence, discipline, and a lifelong passion.
At Frontier Ice Arena, that potential takes shape.
Today, 139 club members train here, including 92 competitive skaters who spend over 800 hours on the ice annually—many training six days a week and representing our region at competitions.
Their impact reaches beyond the rink.
Each year, the club hosts competitions that bring nearly 200 visiting athletes, along with coaches and families, to our community—fueling local businesses and showcasing Coeur d’Alene as a destination for sport.
The demand is here. The space is not.
We have outgrown our current facility.
To continue serving these athletes—and the hundreds more ready to step onto the ice—we must expand.
Your investment will:
-
Open the door for more beginner skaters
-
Provide critical training time for competitive athletes
-
Bring more events, visitors, and economic impact to our region
This is more than ice. It's an opportunity.
Help us build what comes next.
